Oscillating between moments of intelligent wit and pure silliness, Grant Lyon reveals his laid-back surfer personality on the stage. Growing up in a strict household with a large group of siblings who are brilliant, talented and great big show-offs, Grant discovered he could seek refuge in laughter. His funny skills, drive to be the center of attention, and infatuation with this nation's past and present now enable Lyon to spin a narrative like no other.
Though barely an adult, Grant has been around. He grew up in Los Angeles, moved to Chicago, came back to Sacramento, and ended up in Santa Cruz. Moving forced him to be outgoing and make friends easily, and now those experiences help him make friends with every audience. He discovered stand-up comedy while playing collegiate soccer at UC Santa Cruz, and unfortunately for his soccer coach, the passion of his life changed.
Multi tasking between family, girls, politics, and finally living as an adult gives Grant Lyon more than enough material to keep audiences from all over captivated and coming back for more.
"One of the most original comedians on the scene, not only will he make you laugh, you might learn something"
- David Testroet, Producer of the Mile High Comedy Competition.
"In a sea of wannabe 'street' comics and childish toilet humor salesmen, it's nice to see someone who is striving to be clever and honest and original."
- Johnny Steele, Former host of the Live 105 Morning Radio Show and past winner of the San Francisco International Comedy Competition.
Born and raised in his loving parent's arms, Sammy Arechar is a fresh face with luxurious jokes. His sense of humor and his stage presence that is often described as "personified chicken salad" has landed him gigs opening for nationally touring comedians such as Dave Waite, Steve Lemme & Kevin Heffernan of Broken Lizard, Tom Clark and Ari Shaffir. His hobbies, along with telling jokes on stage, are looking handsome, seeing what's on TV, and seeing what's in the fridge.
