No passes/promotions accepted  \nOur annual Madison’s Funniest Comic Competition (MFCC) draws upwards of 60 local comedians. In order to sign up. Comics must be based in Wisconsin and must submit a 3 – 5 minute video clip. Over the course of each Wednesday\, in the month of April\, competing comics will perform first in preliminary rounds\, and then\, after a round of eliminations\, semi-finals\, followed by a final round. After the final round of eliminations\, Madison’s Funniest Comic will be named! \nDOORS: 6:30pm\nSHOWTIME: 8:00pm\nTICKETS: $10 – available at door only \nCompetition Breakdown:\nWEDNESDAY\, April 1st – PRELIMINARY ROUND 1\nWednesday\, April 8th – Preliminary round 2\nWednesday\, April 15th – round 1\nWednesday\, April 22nd – round 2\nWednesday\, April 29th – FINALS \nCLICK HERE FOR COMPETITION CRITERIA\, DATES\, PRIZES AND MORE \nFAQ’s \nWhat’s the difference between Madison’s Funniest Comic Competition and the Mic on State?\nMadison’s Funniest Comic Competition differs from the Mic in several ways. Unlike the Mic\, where individuals have an even shot at getting up onstage each week\, the competition requires the elimination of individuals over the course of each week. These eliminations will be based on both audience votes and decisions made by our panel of judges.  \nWhen will the competition take place?\nMadison’s Funniest Comic Competition 2026 will replace the weekly Mic on State Wednesday\, April 1st through Wednesday\, April 22nd\, with finals taking place the following week on Wednesday\, April 29th. These shows take place from 8 p.m. until roughly 10:00 p.m. \nCan I make a reservation or buy tickets in advance?\nUnfortunately\, no. Tickets for these shows are only available at the door. \nCan I save seats for friends?\nUnfortunately\, no. Given the popularity of the event seating is first come/first serve and seats cannot be held for any guests that are not present. \nWhat time should I arrive to watch the show?\nWe recommend arriving as soon as you can to door time (6:30 p.m.) in order to guarantee a spot. Seating is first come\, first serve based on availability\, similar to our regular Wednesday open mics. These shows tend to fill up quickly and sell out\, so we suggest arriving no later than 7:30 p.m. \nHow do I get a ballot to vote?\nIn order to receive a ballot you must be present by the time the show begins at 8:00pm. You cannot pick up ballots in advance for anyone who may be arriving late. This is in order to keep judging fair for all contestants.

Janeane also co-authored the best seller “Feel This Book\,” with Ben Stiller. \nJaneane was a cast member of the Emmy Award-winning Ben Stiller Show and played the role of Paula\, the acerbic talent booker\, on “The Larry Sanders Show\,” for which she received an Emmy nomination.
